Grandpa's El Camino is a 1967 Chevrolet El Camino with a 283 V8 and a Powerglide automatic transmission, and it's a very special project to me.

I grew up riding around in the El Camino. It was the only vehicle my Grandfather owned while I was growing up. We went to the park, to the store, to get coffee — everywhere — together in it.

I've only recently come into possession of the El Camino and it's been sitting on dirt and covered with junk, so I have no idea of its condition at this point. I do know it hasn't been driven since he died, and that it has low miles. The transmission is toast and will need a rebuild, but my goal for this project is extremely limited: put it back on the road in the condition he kept it in.

This cruck is an homage to the man who raised me.
